Il Monaco Glacier
Today we are with Luca at the Monaco Glacier, the most spectacular glacier of the Svalbard Isles, that nowadays is threatened by pollution and global warming. In fact, in the past the two, now separated glaciers, were one unique and compact block. Svalbard Isles are an archipelago in Glacial Arctic Sea and, according to administration, they belong to Norway.

Their surface is covered with ice and thus a very inhospitable environment. There are no trees but only moss and lichens. Due to the freezing climate the symbol of this Isles is the white bear. However, nowadays glaciers and a wide range of animals in this uncontaminated area, such as the white bear, are threatened by global warming.
